In conjunction with current federal requirements, BYU offers a "Promoting a Respectful Campus" training seminar. This seminar discusses current federal laws and regulations pertaining to unlawful discrimination and sexual misconduct and BYU's policy regarding inappropriate gender-based behavior. The goal of the Equal Opportunity Office is to train new employees upon hire and each University department once every other year; however, a department may request training at any time.
The Equal Opportunity Office also provides training on equitable hiring policies and procedures, Family and Medical Leave (FMLA), and the process for providing accommodations to employees with disabilities. These training seminars are available at departmental request.
