Waiting List Guidelines
- You may remain on the waiting list for a maximum of six months.
- Your position on the waiting list is based on the date and time when you add yourself to the waiting list, or if a current resident, when you submitted your current agreement.
- Adding yourself to the waiting list does not guarantee that you will receive an apartment offer.
- Campus Accommodations will be unable to tell you your position on the waiting list.
- The more specific your waiting list preferences, the less likely you will receive an apartment offer.
- When an apartment that fits your preferences becomes available, an email/text message will be sent to each email address/phone number you provide.
- Apartment offer notifications are generally sent Monday through Friday during the hours of 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
- You will have 4 hours from the time you receive an apartment offer notification to accept the apartment on hold and complete Part 1 of the agreement. Once you complete Part 1, your spouse/fiance will then have 24 hours to complete Part 2. Single parents with dependents only need to complete Part 1.
- If you do not complete Part 1 of the agreement within the allotted time, the hold will expire and you will no longer be able to contract for that apartment.
- If you do not accept an apartment and the hold expires, you will be removed from the waiting list. In order to be considered for additional openings you will need to renew your place on the waiting list (there is no limit to the number of times you may renew your place on the waiting list).
How Do I Add Myself to the Waiting List?
- Log in to My Housing Account.
- Select "Waiting List" from the Family Housing tab.
- Under Availability Date, input the first date for which you would accept an apartment offer.
- Under the instructions is a section called "Housing Agreement and Waiting List Selection." This section will update with your waiting list preferences and your current family housing agreement (if you have one).
- Under Part 1, indicate your marital status.
- Please note: Marking engaged will require a marriage date to be listed. Apartments with an availability date of more than 30-days prior to the marriage will not be offered. Inputting an invalid marriage date to obtain an apartment more than 30-days prior to the marriage is considered to be "Fraudulent Inducement of Contract" and those doing so will be blocked from contracting with On-Campus Housing.
- Under Part 2, select your apartment preferences:
- Choose the area in which you would like housing.
- You may narrow your request down as far as the building, floor, and apartment. Please note, however, that the further down you narrow your waiting list request the less likely you will be to obtain an apartment.
- Under Part 3, choose how many bedrooms you would like in your apartment.
- Under Part 4, you must provide at least one phone number for text messaging and one email address (it is highly recommended that you provide additional email addresses and phone numbers for text messaging).

- Enter the appropriate information for the contact type. If you are adding a phone number for a text message, please first choose your country and then enter your phone number

How Do I Get an Apartment Offer?
- When your place on the waiting list is reached and an apartment that matches your waiting list preferences becomes available, an email/text message will be sent to each email address/phone number you provide, directing you to an apartment offer message on your My Housing Account message board.
- The apartment offer message on your My Housing Account will state:
"An apartment has been put on hold for you matching your waiting list preferences for the requested time frame. You have until (said time) Provo Time to accept or reject this hold. Please be aware that after accepting this hold you will need to complete Part 1 of the agreement before the hold expires.
Note: Please do not log in to My Housing Account from multiple computers while completing the agreement, as this will prevent you from being able to complete the process."
- You will need to click on the link in the message which will direct you to a page that shows a floor plan of the apartment being offered.
- You may click accept hold or decline hold if you don't want the apartment.
- If you accept the hold, you will have 4 hours to complete Part 1 of the agreement. Once you complete Part 1, your spouse/fiance will then have 24 hours to complete Part 2. Single parents with dependents only need to complete Part 1. Contracting steps can be reviewed on the Contracting Instructions page.
